Dos Tacos in Gangnam Review
The other day I was craving some Mexican food in Seoul, because I rarely have it anymore. And there aren’t many places you can find good Mexican food in Seoul. I have tried Vatos Tacos in Itaewon and a few other random places that were overpriced and definitely below average from what I would expect.
Until I checked out Dos Tacos in Gangnam. It was actually really good! I got a beef burrito and a side of nachos with jalapenos, sour cream, and salsa. It was definitely way better than any other Mexican restaurant in Seoul.
Was the price worth it?
I paid around 10,000 won for the burrito and split the nachos with my friend. They were about 10,000 won as well. I also had a beef soft shell taco as well which was around 5,000 won.
I think these are reasonable prices compared to what I paid at the other Mexican restaurants in Seoul. Mexican food is not going to be cheap here compared to the US. Any foreign food is not going to be cheap in Seoul. But I think that these prices were fair for the quality of the food.
If you want to get a margarita here they were around 9500 won.
The meat reminded me of back home
The meat had a good flavor to it. Besides how expensive the other Mexican restaurants were, they also didn’t have the best flavored meat. Which is one of the most important parts obviously! I only had the beef this time though, so I can’t comment on the chicken.
One of the best parts
One of the best parts was the taco sauce they had. It was very spicy, but had a very nice flavor to it. It definitely enhanced the flavor of every dish that I had that night.
Take a look at the menu. They have a wide variety of options to choose from. You can get a chimichanga, soft or hard shell taco, burrito, flautas, nachos, or even a burrito bowl.
How was the service?
The service was great, but I went at a time when there weren’t many people. I got there around 930-10 PM on a Saturday night. It is smaller sized restaurant and so I can imagine it gets packed from time to time.
But the food came out within 10 minutes to order it very fresh.
As you can tell I actually like some Mexican food in Seoul. I wanted to write about this place because I know there are definitely some people living here asking about the best Mexican food. This may be it. It’s still not comparable to the Mexican food back home, but it’s probably the best you are going to get in Seoul. And when you want some comfort food after living in South Korea for a while, this is a good option.
Definitely pass on Vatos Tacos and the other Mexican restaurants in Itaewon.
Surprisingly, there are a lot of different locations that you can get Dos Tacos at as well. They have restaurants in Apgujeong, Hongdae, Seoul Station, Bundang, Ichon, Seoul National University, and Seorae French Village.
