These are the best travel products that I recommend based on personal experience. I am sure I will add to the list in the future, as I travel even more.
All of these travel goods were exceptional at one time or another during my travels.
They will definitely be a little random. But I am not going to put any products on here that I haven’t personally used.
I will review the travel items and have affiliate links inserted with them as well.
At no cost to yourself, I make a small profit if you click through the link to order the item on Amazon. Or any other site that I recommend.
Hopefully they can give you an idea of if they are the travel accessories you would need for your adventures.
Best Travel Products
I traveled with this backpack while I was in Europe in the fall of 2015. I used it to not only walk the Camino De Santiago, but also to backpack around Europe. As long as you know how to use all of the functions on it (there are a lot), it is the best travel backpack you can get.
Here is a list of all the travel items I was able to fit inside or attach to the backpack.
Padding for camping
3-4 changes of clothes
Two pairs of shoes
2 large water bottles
Travel accessories – Shampoo, soap, and other small travel goods.
Protein powder – Yea, surprisingly I carried around a small container of protein powder for half of the Camino. Until I got rid of it. But it fit comfortably in the bag among the rest of the travel items.
Towels – I carried two full size towels and a micro fiber towel.
The best part about this backpack is the amount of space it gives you. I felt like I could always add another item and wouldn’t have to worry about running out of room. There is a certain way you want to fit the items in the bag to give you the correct weight distribution, so you are comfortable. But the amount of space and the functionality of this backpack is unmatched. They have came out with some newer models you can look at as well. But this Osprey design will not let you down, and definitely will be durable for long term travel. It’s one of the best travel products you can get.
I bought these shoes 3 days into walking the Camino. I started off wearing basketball shoes and my feet were hurting like hell. But these have got to be close to the best men’s and women’s travel shoes you can find. They are one of the must have travel items if you are planning on doing a ton of walking.
These are some of the most durable shoes you can buy. They might be a little expensive. But they last a very long time. I still wear mine to this day with no visible signs of wear.
The sole of these shoes is solid. They have at least a half of an inch on the bottom as well, so your feet aren’t as sore after a long day of walking.
If you need comfortable walking shoes for travel, look no further than Salomon.
One of the best travel products that I have used while traveling is Proof Bed Bug Spray. A lot of people underestimate the need for simple travel goods like these. But this was one of the most valuable travel products while I was walking the Camino De Santiago, and staying in hostels throughout Europe. This is one of the best travel items for feeling clean when you are sleeping in the same bed that many other people have.
I met countless people who had got bitten by bed bugs and couldn’t get rid of them at all. Once they get onto your backpack and clothes, you pretty much have to wash everything thoroughly. It’s a really big hassle when you are constantly on the move.
I took this spray with me and never had any problems with bed bugs at all. A lot of the people that were sleeping in the same area would actually borrow it, since they didn’t bring their own.
It makes you feel confident going to sleep in an albergue or hostel, knowing that there is pretty much zero chance you will have any bed bug problems.
This is beneficial because you aren’t likely to get to many towels for free at hostels. A lot of the ones I stayed at I had to pay 5-10 Euros. I carried this around, which allowed me to save a little money.
The other great thing is that the towel drys quickly. It takes up hardly any space in your backpack or luggage.
I am trying to recommend the best travel products that will truthfully help you a ton. I would be lying if I told you this wasn’t at the top of the list. This is the very best app that I downloaded on my I phone when I got to Europe. The best part about it is it works offline. You just have to download the map of the city that you are traveling through and pin where you want to go. You can see exactly where you are compared to where you need to go in any city.
You’ll never get lost again. And you will be able to visit more places, because you know exactly where to go.
There were a few times that having a portable charger saved me from losing my battery on my phone completely. It normally wasn’t a huge deal, because I could only use my phone on wifi anyway.
But if you are waiting for a flight in the airport and you don’t want to worry about having to find a plugin, this charger will save you.
Out of all the travel items on this list, this one is definitely a need. It will heavily annoy you if you travel somewhere and can’t charge your phone. The universal adapter will work in over 150 different countries. And it’s only $9.99!
Do you want to get all of your daily vitamins while you are on the road? I started taking Standard Process vitamins before I left my home and continued while I was traveling. They have multi vitamin packages that won’t take up much room and will give you all the minerals you need.
I like the fact that Standard Process is different than other multi vitamin companies. The vitamins are made into a broth instead of surrounded by the plastic coating you see on most vitamins. So they dissolve as soon as they are touched by any liquid. I also like that they use bovine extracts in all of their products. These are from the organs of certain animals and are extremely nutritious in restoring your body.
I use these vitamins now while I am in South Korea, and used them when I was traveling across Europe. They are by the far the best vitamins you can find.
This is the best soap you will find, and it comes in a travel bottle. It is a 32 ounce bottle that lasts for a long time. When you apply the soap to your body, you don’t really need that much. The best part is that it is completely organic and has the best ingredients. How else are you going to carry soap around when you are traveling? Your skin feels refreshed after showering with it. Take a look at the ingredients in the picture.
I will continue to add to this list as time goes by. I tried to list the essential travel goods. And I know that I will think of more in the future.
Be smart when planning on traveling long term. Instead of getting someplace and having to buy the travel goods there. This list will at least give you a few items to consider before you take off on your next adventure! Safe Travels!
